St. Cloud State's Halenbeck Hall Fieldhouse and Fitness Center

The Halenbeck Hall South Fieldhouse is home to the SCSU men's and women's track and field teams.  The Fieldhouse was completed in 1980, and resurfaced again in 2007. The major feature of the facility is a multi-purpose area surrounded by a 200-meter, six-lane running track with an eight-lane straightaway for the sprint events. The track features a throwing circle and sector, two pole vault runways, a long jump/triple jump runway and pit, and a large high jump area. The facility also houses six regulation size racquetball courts, a wrestling practice room and human performance laboratory.

In the main arena of the Fieldhouse, there is space for basketball courts, tennis courts, badminton and volleyball on the all-purpose surface.  The track and field teams have ample areas for to practice in the weight events, and there is also space for pole vaulting, the long jump, high jump and triple jump.

The facility is large enough for both the SCSU softball and baseball teams to use the Fieldhouse as a practice facility and batting and pitching cages are available for team use.  The wrestling team uses the Fieldhouse as its main practice location.  A large wrestling room with padded floor and walls is crowned by a list of SCSU athletes who have gained All-America honors during their collegiate career at SCSU. The wrestling room provides an outstanding training facility for the Husky wrestling program. The room was recently renovated thanks to the generous support of several St. Cloud State wrestling benefactors. These additions include new floor mats, new wall mats and new banners saluting the tradition and history of the Husky wrestling program.

The Fieldhouse connects directly to the new SCSU Student Fitness Center, which opened in Jan. 2005.  This facility houses a complete state-of-the-art fitness center, which includes numerous weight training machines, treadmills, exercise bikes and free weights.  The facility has a three-story climbing wall and also has two large dance/aerobic studios.  The fitness center includes office space for faculty and staff, along with areas for classrooms and storage.

The fitness center is connected to Husky Stadium, which provides to quick and indoor access to the Husky Stadium indoor dome.  The stadium is home to SCSU football and soccer during the fall, and during the winter months, an inflatable dome is placed over the turf to allow for use by SCSU athletes and students.  Husky Stadium also offers full locker room space for the SCSU football and soccer teams, along with locker space for visiting teams and officials.

The fitness center and Husky Stadium also help centralize the University's athletic facilities, as the main Halenbeck Hall gymnasium is connected to the fitness center and stadium, and the National Hockey Center is adjacent to the new facilities.
